Parking in Japan

Parking the car

Several of you have asked me to show you the parking facility for our building.  The car on the lower right is Akira’s and he, as you see, backs into the spot.  This unit rotates the cars up/down and around when a key is inserted into a slot on a panel to the left of the parking garage.  It has a lower level as well so that twelve cars can be parked (stored) here.

The round circle in front of the parking unit will rotate around when the button is depressed to help you align the car for both in or out as you need.  I love this and wish we had them in the U.S.  It not only saves space but is a practical way to store your car especially if you live in the City.  Also, notice to the right of the Garage you see the metal storage units.  This is for the storage of items for recycling from the residents of the building.
